I thought Episode 6 was pretty good. Somewhat brutal to watch but such an important one for THAT character.
A few random thoughts:
- At least they're not short changing us on these episodes, as they give a full hour of content. I feel like Game of Thrones episodes were usually 10 minutes shorter than that most of the time. More to cover in WoT though so that makes sense.
- Perhaps the best thing I can say is that it's getting me excited again, like when I was reading the books the first time, where you just want to keep going. Naturally I already know what's going to happen, but still. The Great Hunt was the book that got me addicted to the series and it's working again here for the same reasons. Eye of the World was a fairly standard fantasy story. The Great Hunt is when the storytelling got genuinely rich and intriguing, as the possibility space really opened up. It's the same thing here, with each story feeling meaningful and watching/wondering how they'll tie together in the end.
