MaxGalactica 09/23/23 9:55:23 AM #151: | Waging a War - Acoustic Version is very pretty. There's a lot of really cool things going on in the instrumental from the acoustic guitar, to the clarinet, to the harp. And the vocals are very well-done. I could see myself enjoying this album quite a bit. Maybe I'll check it out sometime.
Thunderbird is pretty fun. Fairly standard song for this time of rock, but they do a good job at it. Good guitar-work, the vocals are solid, and the drums are serviceable. I don't really see myself checking this album anytime soon, but I think I'd have fun with it. Unlike rwlh, I quite like Isaac Wood's voice. I really liked Concorde and The Place Where He Inserted the Blade, but the rest of Ants From Up There didn't really stand out to me. Mark's Theme is okay, but it only stands out to me for about 30 seconds of its duration, and it feels empty without the vocals. I do think this is an album people should experience at least once though, it's quite unique, and I definitely understand why it did so well on RYM. --- Don't trust everything that you read on the Internet. -Abraham Lincoln ...
