A remake is long overdue, but I can kind of respect the attitude of "we're not making a sequel unless we have a good idea for one" in an industry where it's so common to keep pumping out sequels until the brand's value has been completely drained. Well, Mario Kart kind of fits that but they'll always make new Mario Kart games. I wish they'd just realize designing new tracks is definitely worth a new game! GX was indeed pretty much perfect.
