the reason amelia becomes the new red ranger is because zayto is dead he died at the end of cosmic fury he is a ghost in this show with a very limited time before he is returned to the morphing grid

and even in the first female red ranger it still kinda feels like "sloppy seconds" since it's more that she just gained the position in the last 10 episodes of her time in the series instead of being at the helm from the start. Then again for the rangers' race the only time i think it really mattered was SPD considering the themes it tackled (and sorta samurai and ninja steel in that it's kinda goofy that a bunch of samurai's descendants are in "America" New Zealand, and that the best ninja in the world is some dude in rural "America" New Zealand)

yeah, weird for Japanese descendants for the white people in Samurai that had clearly Japanese last names to been all Caucasian instead
