It did a lot for my coding abilities too, although honestly I spent a couple of years working in IT and hated it. Still nice to have the skills for hobbyist stuff tho; I host the largest Lemmings fan community and maintain two Lemmings clone engines (one based on DOS L1 but expanded for custom content purposes; the other a fairly close clone of L3D), and I think playing around with spinoffs is a big part, if maybe not quite the sole source, of my skills with this kind of thing.

i'm not sure if i ever played l3d, but i spent a lot of time playing the original lemmings, both on pc and especially a clone for palm os. good to hear that it still has a community and development interest going.
