Welcome to the 2023 edition of Most Evil Fictional Character, a single-elimination tournament to determine the most evil fictional character of all time!

Here's the bracket:

https://www.bracketmaker.com/tmenu.cfm?tid=477621&tclass=

And here's the discussion topic:

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/8-gamefaqs-contests/80568652

And here are the rules:

-First and foremost, YOU MUST BOLD YOUR VOTE FOR IT TO COUNT. The reason for this is that these topics encourage a lot of discussion and debate, and it helps me to distinguish a vote from simple discussion if all votes are bolded. So, I state again, ALL VOTES MUST BE BOLDED FOR THEM TO COUNT. I reserve the right to be lenient in early topics if people just aren't getting it, but for the most part, IF YOUR VOTE ISN'T BOLDED, IT WON'T COUNT.

-You must vote for which of the two characters you honestly believe to be the more evil of the two. You can determine this via any method you like, use your own morals and judgement, read all the arguments made to determine your choice, or however you choose to make your pick, but you must only vote for the one you truly believe is the most evil. This isn't a death battle, or a popularity contest. You're voting ONLY for the most evil character out of the two choices presented.

-While on that subject, remember that because this isn't a death battle or a fighting tournament, do your absolute best to consider the two characters as if their power levels were equal (either the weaker character brought up to the level of the strongest, or vice versa, or both if you want to consider both possibilities). Therefore, just because, for example, one of the characters blew up a planet and the other one merely kicked a puppy, doesn't necessarily mean the planet killer is more evil than the puppy kicker. Consider the characters as if they have the exact same capabilities and what they might do in that scenario.

-You can make any arguments, debates, etc. you want in this topic. Discussion is STRONGLY encouraged, a fun debate about which of the two characters is most evil is exactly what these topics are for. Just don't make it personal, no insults or flaming, keep things civil even if you disagree. Also, no vote rallying, if you want to encourage people to vote for your character you need to at least make some semblance of an argument as to why, even if it's just "Character X did (really dastardly thing), I can't believe no one's voting for them!"

-Voting will continue for exactly 24 hours after the post is made. If there's a tie, there will be a new 24 hour topic. This will continue indefinitely until a winner is determined.

-YOU MUST BOLD YOUR VOTE FOR IT TO COUNT.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for the Pokemon games and anime and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Proceed at your own risk!

GHETSIS

Ghetsis is the primary antagonist of Pokemon Black and White.

The adoptive father of N, Concordia and Athea, he is the leader of the Seven Sages of Team Plasma and its true mastermind. He maintains the guise of a loyal servant to N and a herald of Team Plasma's utopia, one where humans release their Pokmon. In actuality, however, Ghetsis manipulated N his whole life and groomed him to be Team Plasma's king, using N's plan to release all Pokmon to become the only person in all of Unova to have control over Pokmon, ensuring his domination over the entire region. Two years later, Ghetsis returns as the mastermind behind Neo Team Plasma, which is now fully dedicated to Ghetsis' plan to rule over Unova. Attempting to conquer the region through force, Ghetsis awakens the legendary Pokmon Kyurem, to freeze Unova into submission. Cornered within the Giant Chasm, Ghetsis uses the DNA Splicers on N's Reshiram/Zekrom to transform his Kyurem into White Kyurem/Black Kyurem in a final attempt to take what he believes he is owed for himself. Ghetsis is a manipulative man who wants to convince people to liberate Pokmon from human slavery. However, this is only so he could rule the region unopposed. Ghetsis is abusive as well, constantly calling N a freak. It is implied that Ghetsis is willing to kill children, as shown when he seeks to eliminate the player to forever keep his real goal a secret and attempts to freeze the sequel's player by using Kyurem to avenge himself for his loss, years prior. Likewise, Ghetsis is an egotistical man, believes himself to be perfect, and refuses to accept defeat. His insanity has worsened in the sequel, because this time, he threatens to freeze all of Unova to gain total control over the region. Due to his mental breakdown after his final defeat, the Shadow Triad tells the player that Ghetsis can no longer do anything at all, finally ending his threat once and for all.

vs.

ZORAN LAZAREVIC

Zoran Lazarevic is the primary antagonist of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Zoran Lazarevic was a Serbian intelligence officer, paramilitary commander and ruthless war criminal long thought by the public and NATO to be deceased. He is a fortune seeker heavily obsessed with finding the lost city of Shambhala and the Cintamani Stone. Lazarevi has been described as both a ruthless, feared and sadistic man. Power hungry and ambitious, Lazarevi would stop at nothing to achieve his goals. Lazarevi has a totalitarian philosophy based on the bloodiest dictators in history, viewing historical figures such as Genghis Khan, Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot as "great men" due to their lack of compassion and mercy, he has no value for life, having tortured and murdered hundreds of people, including killing his own men if they would betray or slow him down. In his views caring for human life is a shameful weakness and ruthlessly mowing down people is strength. This goes to extreme, to the point when he was beaten down, near dead at the Tree of Life and at the mercy of Nathan Drake instead of begging for his life he tries to persuade Drake to kill him to make him the same ruthless, merciless killer Lazarevi was Lazarevi does not care to kill anyone who .crosses his path, and would kill even innocent and injured people who had nothing to do with him; he mindlessly killed an injured Jeff, and attacked a Tibetan Village filled with innocent villagers just because they were in his way. Lazarevi has no respect or care to his associates and soldiers, seeing them just as another tool that would help him with his search for Shambhala.
