A subscription is needed for normal games. That subscription doesn't include MMORPG. $79.99 for 12 months. Times that by the entire console life span and that would be a lot. On PC we don't need any subscription to play online, unless they are MMORPG. We get free games on Epic Store weekly and even daily at times. Sometimes even multiple games.
