You said something I forget now about why I was paying so much for a car
So I explained why.

Side note I hate how car dealers looking into your credit drops your credit. I shopped around so it took a few hits before I found the car I wanted. Still was like 650 by the time I got to the car I ended up getting though.
I didn't say you forgot. I said you didn't know what you were talking about. You were saying how you never dealt with credit based on the ignorance of what you were, and then when I said you hadn't, your response is to bring up something that deals with credit. Which goes against your "I don't deal with credit" talk.

This is nice in theory but going to court would likely cost more money to the company than whatever amount they're seeking from the indebted.

And if all court costs go to the indebted, that just decreases the chance of the company getting their money anyways because the indebted now have additional financial burdens.
It costs more money for everyone all around and would make the process take even longer. And it wouldn't solve issues like mine, and in cases would make it just as awful, if not worse. This isn't even close to a decent alternative, as it's largely worse.

IE, in my situation, let's say that the ISP takes me to court for the "not paying for equipment." Then I get sent mail about a court date for something I don't owe, and I have to hire an attorney to defend myself for things I don't owe (thus spending more money on the lawyer than I owe, it's $50 which is definitely less than a lawyer), AND I have to show up on a specific date to do so (doesn't matter if I have some control of the date or not), and if I don't, then I "automatic forfeit my right to defend myself." And you can bet your ass that even if you win, at most, the company would cover the court fees but not the actually money people potentially lost for going to work. Even if they did, in this case, them going for $50 would be a colossal waste of money if they lost.

The credit system is fine how it is. And why this bloke is so concerned about the company when my example literally brought up how the debt collectors are harassing me for a debt they didn't even verify was legitimate showcases the entire problem with everything that happened in this situation. The ISP makes and error because the apartment complex is stupid and they want me to pay for some mysterious person that I've never met because at one point I lived in the same apartment as the person who got equipment from there and didn't pay.

tldr:
it'd cost everyone more to do the court suggestion and make the process even slower.
