I had a friend in culinary school who discovered she was allergic to shellfish while peeling shrimp in class. Her hands like doubled in size. Swelling is usually what happens to me. The first time, my throat swelled I didnt know I was allergic, so I thought I had something stuck in my throat But it had just swelled up Ive also had my lips and tongue swell up. My lips to see if it was just shellfish, or the season. And my tongue when I checked if it was just crabs, or all shellfish My mom is fine with it as she doesnt have to share her food. Im in Maryland where crabs are a big thing. But they can get expensive.
