12 years of age is old enough to understand that murder is wrong. The boy's internet search history speaks volumes in regards to his interests and intents. What I'm concerned with now is a profile of the boy's parent(s) or legal guardian(s). Did they know about this? Did they encourage this? If they are in any way in league with this, the book should be thrown at them as if they had wielded the knife.

Chances are, the boy is beyond salvaging. He could spend the next six years in juvenile detention and commit a hate crime as soon as he got out. But we have to make every attempt to deprogram him.
