who said it guarantees a championship? we should just be encouraging owners to spend money. very simple. how is an owner incentivized to spend if a bottom ten payroll team with 84 wins and a negative run differential won a pennant? jerry dipoto even said his goal, as explained to the mariners owner, is only to win 54% of games (88 wins). 88 teams shouldn't even get you into the playoffs. and why is a team with low payroll that refuses to pay the fucking players a good thing??? you some kinda bootlicker or something? the hell is wrong with you?
