Topic	I cannot, for the life of me, taste a difference in 'types' of sweets.

Different people have a different number of taste buds and the more you have the more sensitive you are to different flavors. It sounds like you may be in the lowest 0.1%, or possibly even lower. But on the other hand, I can tell subtle differences in savory foods like buffalo wings, burgers, pizza, the pepperoni on the pizza, etc... Yeah, this exactly. tankboy posted... If there are supertasters (and there are), it stands to reason that there subtasters, who can barely taste anything.
