Ok, so before I post the ending to Questy Chess, here's a funny story about me being an idiot.

I had to completely restart Questy Chess. The item system in this game is bonkers dumb. The pieces are consumable items, so you can run out and have to go back to the couple of levels they spawn in and boost. The rest of the items do not respawn, and once you use them you're out of luck. Using the items in general is a bit of a mess. There is a clone yourself item that clones you, but you can't select where you land. One of the levels has a a movement goal that is entirely dependent on getting the clone to spawn in the right spot, so I had to actually keep quitting out of the level, randomly picking a spot, seeing where the clone would spawn, and when it finally spawned in a favorable location I did the movement puzzle I had figured out like ten minutes ago. Now, if you use all the clone items, you can't do a replay of this level because you literally cannot beat it. So if you used them up, you're just out of luck for getting 100% because this level cannot be replayed. I had reason to believe the game was sloppily made, is what I'm getting at.

There are doors in here that are locked. Some you need to use keys to open. Others will open up if you have a specific piece. So it will show a knight behind the door, you swap to the knight, and the door opens. It closes for any other piece.

Ok. So I get to the second to last level in the entire game, and there is a door with a keyhole behind it. I had used up my keys already. You can play the world in any order, and what I assumed happened was there is another key behind this door you were supposed to use in world "4", but I played that one first and used the key I was supposed to use in this door in another door. I replayed every single level to make sure I wasn't missing a key, but couldn't find any. I almost just decided to move on to something else, but I was too stubborn so I restarted the game.

Like one world in I run into a door locked by a key, and the way it looks is different than the door that has been vexing me. I had forgotten what they look like, but they have a literal picture of a key next to them.

That locked door with the keyhole behind it? Yeah, that was a picture of a pawn, not a keyhold. All I had to do was swap to a pawn to open it, something I didn't do because after you unlock other pieces you have zero reason to play as a pawn.

So that's the story of how I played Questy Chess twice. I may be stupid, is what I'm getting at.
