The characters are very likable. Great sprite work and fun ost. And no random encounters is a plus. Just held back by shit like whenever you complete a dungeon, you have to turn around and backtrack out of it. Old skool design that deserves to stay in the 80s and 90s. Grandia II is definitely the better game. While the first game feels dated, the second game holds up remarkably well imo --- I'm the original TomNook7 from the old days.
