Its built like a comic. Comics have arcs and they do chapters in each issue. Unless it's a One-shot, comic stories almost always end on cliffhangers multiple times before the arc wraps out. You wait a month for each issue to come out and continue the story.

Think of it like that, and it makes more sense

I'm not reading a comic. You can have homages to that (The scene transitions which I enjoyed) but at the same time you're making a movie. You need to have some level of resolution.

Also, the "Sent to the wrong universe" is dumb.

We see a Rhino (No Spider DNA) get sent to their correct universe. So why does Miles (yes he was bit by universe 42 spider.) Get sent to 42? All of the rest of him is from his universe. He should still be "glitching" in 42 unless we just handwave it with "LOL magic spider".

They took 2 different storylines and split it into 2 movies but have them running concurrently which doesn't make any sense. One movie should have been Hole/setting up the Spider Society, then have the last movie be Spider Society fallout/Universe 42.

(Hole said "I'm gonna go kill your dad" then proceeds to do nothing while we're dicking around with the spidersociety/Universe 42.)
