Once the rumors that Apple would release the iPhone spread in 2005, Microsoft should have prioritized making Windows Mobile the best mobile phone there was. Instead, they wasted time on making an MP3 player years after Apple had already beaten them to the punch and didn't release the Windows Phone, their answer to the iPhone, until 2010.
