This.

They'll be desperately trying to out-chud each other so they can try to step into the power vacuum that the fat orange traitor will leave when he finally shuffles off this mortal coil.

Trump opened the pandora's box of extremism on the right. They aren't getting that genie back in the bottle, and truthfully? They don't really want to.
Someone once said the trajectory of the federal GOP resembles the way the California GOP went. They used to be dominant in the state, but gradually became more and more extreme. When voters and changing demographics turned against them their response was to double down since "it's the voters who are wrong". Eventually they just kept isolating themselves more and more to the point where they have no clue how to communicate to voters outside their bubble.

With any luck there'll be something to this and that's what will become of the federal party. Crazy, but impotent and largely faded into irrelevancy as they rant in their echo chamber.
