I'd say go for these units specifically and stop if you get a few of them:

Red Hood, Naga & Tia(needs to be both), Blanc & Noir(needs to be both), Liter, Dorothy, Scarlet, Modernia, Centi, Scarlet, Rapunzel, Alice, Snow White, Noise.

If you get a combo of Naga/Tia and Blanc/Noir, you'd have one of the better teams in the game already since they're both fantastic pairs that can help make your teams better. They're extremely meta. But only if they're together. So it's a bit rough in that regard, if you only have 1 of them they might kinda...suck.

Red Hood, Modernia, and Scarlet are the top 3 damage dealers in the game at normal investment. Red Hood can also double as a buffer, providing extra damage to all your allies as well as covering burst 1 and burst 2 if someone dies.

Alice and Snow White are great at damage, but they need a LOT of investment before they're viable. They need teams focused around them, and you need to know their mechanics very well to play them, especially with Alice since she can deal insane damage but there's a reason she has a classification as regular and 'gaming chair Alice' lol.

Noise and Rapunzel share similar roles, healers. Rapunzel has the rare ability to revive though, which no one else in the game has.

Liter is one if the best supports in the game. She can heal cover(which iirc only Naga can do too?) and provides a massive damage buff.

Dorothy is a fantastic unit all around and is quite capable of making any team demolish bosses, she can lower burst cooldowns JUST by emptying her magazine. Not to mention, against bosses, she stacks stupid amounts of damage. It's hard to explain exactly what she does, but if you go on nikke.gg or prydwen they'll tell you why she's stupid good.

Centi is just a good all around burst 2. Not much to say here, she's been solid since release gives shields and provides good support and damage, she's just a fantastic unit.

Edit: and for anyone wondering about dupes, every unit is good with just ONE copy. Dupes just increase stats by a basic ass 2% or so. Don't worry about it. If you get them, great, if you don't, who cares?

You will need at least 5 units total to have 4 copies of, but that's only something to worry about when you get close to level 160.
