That's my problem, though. By seriously embracing this incest plot development and treating it and homosexuality as the same thing, both worthy of the same sympathy and support, I'd argue that the series is incredibly unfriendly to LGBTQ+ rights.
It would be like if they seriously argued that two women being in love is equal to pedophilia or something. Those aren't the same thing! Incest, especially brother/sister blood-related grew up together incest, is objectively wrong. By equating it to homosexuality, to me, the show is saying that being gay is therefore also objectively wrong. I'm honestly disgusted by the implication that the two ideas are even remotely comparable.
