Finished all of UTTU and Limbo VI for this cycle of R1999. Honestly, as long as your strategy is solid, you can usually win without too crazy of an investment. It basically took a month of character growth and some gacha luck to beat everything.

Regulus gets better and better as time goes on, even though she's already good before. Just having a pure power single dmg for regular attack and the dodge AOE power ult makes her able to solo DPS despite being a supportive attacker. She's not gonna outdamage a single target DPS against a non-mob boss, but she's not that far bh because you can focus on using her passive on a single target attack. Timing her apple moxie -1 is also a huge defensive move that can cancel the enemy boss ult. I can't imagine her falling off, cuz nothing stops you from running one more DPS.

Melania needs the Insight 3 to really shine. Basically her stacking passive increases her ult dmg gradually. Normally you need 6 ults for max dmg, but with Insight 3, you only need 3 ults. Because a lot of bosses do too much damage to you and have <50% hp conditionals, Melania doing more and more damage makes her a really powerful boss killer

Balloon Party is a 5* and she's really powerful. You'll get a chance to get a free Balloon soon because of a faulty banner info. She puts counters and heal on-hit passives on your party. Great defensively, and a healer is pretty much a pre-req against the hardest bosses

Medicine Pocket does a single target dmg debuff and heals. His defensive buff is stacking and only decreases when the character that has it gets hit. So spam that heal. The stun ult is really op and stops most bosses' big turns, except the ones with the yellow chain looking passive clear the stun.

Leilani is a decent 3* if you don't have other good Red types. She enables Melania, nuff said. Melania getting Moxie is always good.

Another tip is that the Blasphemer of the Night psychube boosts your dmg by a lot if the enemy has 2 [neg status]. Unless you use Sotheby exactly, this psychube kinda sucks. The game does a poor job of explaining that stat debuffs are not [neg status], so your Bkornblume or Baby Blue's double stat debuffs do not give the Blasphemer boost.
