Watched Quicksand on Shudder. Not great...

A separated married couple visit the Colombian rainforest because of circumstances, and they become stuck in quicksand while there. Basically it's akin to a lot of movies that take place in one confined area, this one just sort of fails where I've seen others like it succeed. My immersion was broken quite a bit by certain things... for instance, a very toxic breed of large snake that also is a constrictor. It's never once said that this is a supernatural monster or something; we're just supposed to believe it's a snake. And our characters are both doctors too, and they treat it straight up like they know what they're talking about too. Yet no such snake exists in reality; also the wife shoots the snake in the side yet it seemingly has no lasting effect on the creature. It has ideas, but it just doesn't really execute it very well to me.
