So, the 16-seed, 246th ranked team out of 261 D1 schools (according to Sagarin on September 19th) won it all. A lot of other upsets paved the way for them - their opening win over Notre Dame was by far their best - and irl this year they finished all the way up at 222nd, over-achieving with a 7-4 record.......but still. Wow.
