So they literally had to make a timeline that made the first bunch of games not even line up with the others to appease them? Zelda always had a timeline. AoL was advertised as a sequel to LoZ, while LttP was advertised as a prequel to both of them. That's why it's titled Link to the Past. LA took place directly after LttP, then OoT was advertised as the first entry in the story, with MM being a direct sequel to OoT. All long before WW was even a concept.
