I went along with what he did and he's all like "loluonlygot3bagdgesbutyoRioluissoconfident" man... How many badges does he have to talk down to me so easily? I bet he didn't collect 10 from a region that only has 8 gyms! He also wants to have a Pokemon battle with me and left to wait on Route 4. He made all the Crustle leave, what a nice guy. Wants to have humans bring out the potential of their Pokemon... yet also... uses experiments to deliver energy to them? ... God this Clink is obnoxious... Frickin' Gear Grind. Not really helpful for me to get Riolu OHKO'd when I'm trying to build happiness... and being in a Ground area doesn't help. Twinkle... Twinkle... What? How is it? !! (First and last time I'll do one of the Castelia street conversations). Oh right... the ground-types are Dark... this is actually a good area to train Riolu. Oh, and speaking of this game being a bit easier... there's so many people in "violent" areas that heal your team, I've found the doctor in the sewer, and now the far house in Route 4 had someone. And more importantly... Got this while it should be closing in on sunset, and good thing too... After battle with a Liepard, Red levelled up to 21 and started to evolve.
