| Topic | I want to make a creepy, confusing, grainy VHS video. |
| red_is_ash 10/07/17 1:56:09 AM #1: | I grew up in the peak end of the VHS era and even though that technology has long since passed mainstream usage, the grainy quality and flashing frames just cannot be replicated digitally. I don't know if you guys are familiar with the Max Headroom broadcast station intrusion that occurred in Chicago back in 1987 but that is the reason for why I want to create a video. I will link the wikipedia page below but, in short, some random guy interrupted a local Chicago broadcast station and for about a minute and a half, very weird stuff happened to say the least. Please watch the video guys. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Headroom_broadcast_signal_intrusion I want to do something like this. I don't believe it is possible to make something truly creepy on 4K quality. I feel as if the mystery disappears if something is clearly visible. I own a VHS player, but I am not sure if that is enough. I believe if I copy VHS tapes over and over, I can get that grainy texture. How is it possible to make videos like below?
