My ring is tungsten carbide. It bounces like you wouldn't believe. The only two times I've ever bounced it were within my first month of marriage.

First was on my honeymoon in the Dominican Republic. We were out somewhere and I used the bathroom, then there wasn't anything to dry my hands. Again, I was new to wearing a ring, so when I shook my hands dry I didn't curl back that finger very hard. It bounced all over the place and my wife and I spend like two minutes searching for it. The second time, I was at work and the paper towels ran out in the bathroom. Same thing, basically. I spent another couple of minutes searching for it because tungsten rings will bounce like crazy.

The hardness of the surface it lands on has a direct effect on the bounce. Carpet is too soft.
