He was always the typical racist old guy who will not joing the KKK because 'they were too exteme' but he only liked whites, asians and middle easterns who were not muslims because he says 'they were the only ones who managed to build civilizations'.

We had a family gathering this Sunday and he told us he watched Cosmos on Netflix a couple of months ago and Neil Degreease Tyson made him question himself, then he saw a few more shows and movies and after watching Star Trek Discovery he liked the job the actress for Michael did....

Fast forward to today he says that he doesn't dislike black people anymore and he likes them now. But he just can't help but hate the Ebonics African american vernacular accent...he says he is trying to stop being racist because he feels racism makes no sense but he cannot stop hating the Ebonics African american vernacular accent.

Do you believe that blacks who speak in Ebonics African american vernacular accent experience more discrimination?

I don't care for Ebonics either but it is what it is so I hold my judgment.

only way to get over being kinda racist in my experience is to actually mingle with said people. get to know them. I was never really racist as I was raised and truly believed in equal rights for everyone, but there was a time I didn't want to associate with anyone but white people. but that just seemed normal to me, grew up in a heavily mexican neighborhood about 60% mexican rest white save two black house holds. and everyone just kinda stuck to their own race as far as who they associated with.

later in life I started to go to parties on the regular, and overtime I find myself going to parties where me and my best friend where literally the only white people, despite their "thuggish" looks and attitudes most of them where decent people once you got to know them, and thus my mindset of not wanting to associate with them went away.
