Turns out the new place was a massive shit show. No hierarchy in the kitchen, bosses had no idea what they were doing, and way too much food being precooked and microwaved to order. I ended up talking to the owner of the first place and telling him I'd like to stay on if it was alright, I was just upfront with him and told him the new job sucked.
