Plus, he's one of the only guys whose mind she can't read, so there's a mystery aspect to it. Then she starts full on liking him when they start working on his manga together. The whole "He looks like my dad" thing happens one time late in the anime in a very specific instance long after she's already started liking him, and it never gets brought up again.
