for those not familiar, Grape-kun is the penguin whose wife left him for a younger penguin. Yet in his old age he found a new love: a penguin waifu from Kemono Friends.



at first they kept a fence to keep them apart because he wasn't eating properly but then he did, so they took the fence down. he's slept next to her, did mating cries to her, and would simply stare lovingly at her. even her voice actress came by - twice. the first time he ignored her but the second time he reacted and a pic with the three was taken.



when bad weather and heavy winds were putting her at risk they took her away to protect her. fortunately she got brought back after the winds were done and Grape-kun was happy.

but sadly... he died at age 20. fairly old for a penguin but still. a tragic loss from a penguin who was a national hero and treasure.
