Lowes is pretty big, and they, for example, refuse to say 'Merry Christmas', so yes, large companies can have 'principles', it depends who's running them, obviously. That's not really a matter of principle, though. Saying "Happy Holidays" rather than "Merry Christmas" is a popular token inclusivity effort.
