The team and the fans seem to be putting a lot of faith into him, but he hasn't actually proven anything yet. And I don't think he even came out of college as a true point guard. I don't get it. My understanding is they wanted to roll with Mudiay and Murray and just deal with the growing pains, but why not keep Nelson as insurance? I guess they're going trial by fire, like they knew they'd immediately bail and go to Nelson if he was around. Still, they could have kept him and either Mudiay or Murray still would have been getting a lot of minutes. I don't think Mudiay's career is going to take off at this point.
