The city I live in requires rental insurance and while I'm not 100% certain something like this qualifies, you might be able to get your entire rig replaced depending on how favorable the deductible is. And IIRC, they base reimbursement off of what you spent on the components at the time, not the obviously depreciated value from being a few generations old. If you spent 1k on a rig 5 years ago, you'll be able to build a rig today worth around 1k, which will obviously be much better.
