There is severe insecurity among social science academia, mostly likely because many of them know they've dedicated their life to peddling nonsense while their academic peers in STEM fields are making meaningful and substantive contributions to the world. Was only a matter of time before someone articulated stupidity like this. This is sadly not the first professor to make these kinds of comments, either. That explains a lot, actually.
