She's hated for being incredibly dull, "what is love" and maybe also FFVI spoilers (doubt we even need these for such a topic, but just in case) literally deciding saving orphans is more important than the world when said orphans would die anyways if she didn't save the world. Sure she eventually shows up, but it makes her look bad when you think about it! Really though it's the boring factor.
