Edward Klein, who has written a number of books on the Clintons and the Kennedys, says former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, haven't been speaking for months after an argument over Hillary's post-election book.

Bill allegedly threw his wife's manuscript in the trash after she ignored his advice not to publish it, according Page Six.

Bill had previously marked up the manuscript with edits, but became enraged when Hillary refused to look at any of his notes.

"Before Hillary sent the manuscript to her publisher, she gave it to Bill to read, and he made major changes with a red pencil," said a source close to the Clinton family. "But she refused to even read his corrections, and he got so furious that he tossed the entire manuscript into the garbage."

The source added: "He told her the book made her look bewildered, angry and confused, and that those were poor qualities in a person who aspired to be a world leader."

The memoir, entitled "What Happened," recounts Hillary's thoughts and feelings during the 2016 presidential race, according to CNN. The former Democratic presidential candidate opens up about her personal life and tries to analyze her campaign to understand where she went wrong.

In the book, she takes aim at the public assumptions that her marriage is falling apart, writing that her relationship with Bill has "many, many more happy days than sad or angry ones."

But a close family friend says otherwise and claims the two haven't been on speaking terms since the book was published.

He hated the title because calling it 'What Happened' would only make people say, 'You lost,'" the source told Page Six. "He urged her to postpone the [publication] date and rewrite the book, but she yelled at him and said, The book is finished and thats how its going to be published."

The source said Bills criticism, as well as what Hillary views as a lack of sympathy, drove a wedge between them.

"They havent been speaking for months. Theyve been communicating through friends and lawyers," said the source.

In his upcoming book "All Out War: The Plot to Destroy Trump," Klein further details the animosity between the Clintons, saying Bill warned his wife a month in advance that she was losing and needed to do more if she wanted to win.

"She told him he was delusional," he writes.
