It only took a number of fans making their own Vanilla server, and getting a Cease and Desist, for Acti-Blizz to realize that maybe, just maybe, there actually is a demand for Vanilla that warrants developing a server of their own. This reminds me, also, of AM2R. That was in development for ten years and even had periodic demos that were released for people to try out. Nintendo basically waited until a day or two after full release to take legal action--still an unpopular move compared to what they COULD have done and chose, instead, to go full-on towards their legal right--and then, nine to ten months later, announced their own remake... that Nintendo handed to a third party... one responsible for the "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow" trilogy and actually pitched a Fusion remake. So, you know, Nintendo took the roundabout way of getting their fans a proper Metroid game, even one that's a remake. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
