Why would you shoot a deer with a handgun? I mean you can in some states. In California you just need centerfire ammo and a 4" barrel minimum. But I'm not sure RIP rounds are softnose or expanding projectiles which are what you need to hunt with to be legal. But realistically they're a overpriced meme round.
