yeah part of why I don't care for the idea. when I know i'm getting gifts I feel obliged to do the same for them. or at least I feel bad if I don't. so why not the both of us just buy ourselves what we want and just enjoy each other's company if we actually care about each other? now if I was married or in a serious relationship, that person probably would be an exception.

and my mother is an exception too. but shes done a lot more for me in life than I feel I deserved so yeah.

my brother and I though. we've never really exchanged gifts. one time he gave me his old xbox 360 for christmas but only because he had bought the newer model

my best friend and I? we might buy the other some booze on birthdays, but christmas we don't do anything for each other.
