Well, probably most conservatives who don't tow the party line, you don't actually know are conservatives. Like my conservative friends who voted Obama, not really super into talking politics. I mean, it will come up from time to time and that's why I know they're conservatives, but yeah, not a lot of fervor.

I think the problem is a lot of em are getting more vocal nowadays and the really vocal ones tend to be those types.

I'm too lazy to look it up right now, but there have been good number of recent polls conducted where conservatives were asked questions like "do you care if Russia influences the election" and almost half of the responses were "nah". Like you can justify it somewhat for various reasons but it's still insane. The blowback from conservatives if Hillary had been in that position would be astronomical.

The party line towers are definitely more vocal these days, but I also think a lot of more reasonable conservatives are joining that group as well. That's a natural result of the intense partisan climate we live in, but I don't think the liberal side of the coin is anywhere NEAR that bad. If a Democratic canditate was outed as creeping on 14-year old girls, he would be eviscerated by almost all liberals.
