It doesn't really fix many of the problems of Battlefront 1, except for the lack of content. But more content doesn't help if the gameplay still sucks, which it does. Space battles are sick but that's it. The biggest problem in the first game (imo) was getting sniped by basic rifles from the complete opposite side of the map.
