Even in countries without guns, murder is a regular occurrence. Across the world, violence towards children is a regular occurrence. Maybe something being too "close to home" makes it feels more shocking. Take my city for example. Typical suburban city in Los Angeles County with some crimes but murders are almost unheard of. About two years ago there was a murder about three miles from where I live. In my 22 years of living in this city, this was the first I time I have heard of a murder. Granted I only started paying attention to the news about several years ago. --- "You must gather your party before venturing forth" "Go for the eyes Boo! Go for the eyes!" ... Copied to Clipboard! |
