Yes and no
The big argument i have been hearing, with TCG you are getting something physical, so it inherently has value, while something that is digital has no real world value.

Also, the market sets the price of each card in the pack, not the manufacture.

When you buy loot boxes, you are essentially gambling on things have have no value outside of the game, if at all, and if they have any in game value, that value is set by the publisher.
