Skip Day (also called Ditch Day, Senior Ditch Day, Cut Day or Senior Skip Day for the senior class) is a tradition in some American schools where the majority[citation needed] of the senior class skips school.[1]

Citation needed indeed. While most of the seniors in my year knew about it, almost nobody actually skipped.

The fact that these students in American culture do not see the value in education to the point that it's a tradition to "ditch" a day of school is the reason why America is almost dead last in every category from math to science to sometimes even english, when compared to other developed countries.

Every nation in the world with young people in school will have young people trying to get out of school. It's a part of young people being young people.

Otherwise, quite frankly, the value provided by American public schools is likely less than that of many other developed countries and even in those other countries their public education can be somewhat suspect.
