You could buy the Horse power up WAYYYYY more often also I plugged in my turbo controller and had it rapid fire one of the top buttons and left it on at the pause menu over night so the PS3 doesn't turn off and destroy my progress it still took a few tries, but I beat the level I was stuck on just now.
