These are laws put into place to try and make amends for transgressions against victims. Payment was made as part of it just like people in the US can sue for mental anguish outside of the actual infraction of the law. These laws looked out for women. While this last one isn't ideal and I wouldn't agree with it, I also have the mental capacity to understand context of the verse around the ones in the OP. --- I think I need a drink.
