No way - Truman, LBJ, and Reagan are easily above him post-FDR. Eisenhower, JFK, Nixon, Bush I, and Clinton are arguably better than Obama. Obama's whole presidency was built on executive orders, which are flimsy af. And the healthcare plan is not gonna be around long term.

I used to believe history would treat LBJ more kindly than he was in his own time. But I've since become convinced that he was far worse than they even thought at that time.

I don't think one term presidents like JFK or GHW can really compare. They could only do so much in so few years. Nixon was a criminal. He's not going to be remembered better than Obama. LBJ was really good on the civil rights stuff, but he also gets tagged with the Vietnam debacle. I think Reagan was generally a disaster for the political culture that he ushered in, but I conceded that huge swaths of the country loved the man.

LBJ was an active roadblock to civil rights before he was president - and his party still was at the time he signed the landmark acts.
