For at least some of them it is real concern and disgust with the behavior, but the other is the long game. Independent voters are more likely to be on their side of the issue than on Trumps side. Pointing out republicans as the party of sexual assaulters and child predators isn't going to hurt them because republicans have spectacularly failed at standing against the issue.
