No offense, but this is something that you have to be putting on me. I was only arguing that Disney only cares about money and they aren't going to can finished films.

Fantastic Four is honestly harder because they've driven it into the ground over at Fox. The X-Men are super-easy (in my opinion) because you can handwave the other movies as "the secret history of the world" - people were told of these events but they were reinterpreted by men like Nick Fury as something else (a Men in Black vibe if you want to call it that).

You only have to deal with 3 films to integrate this: First Class, DoFP and Apocalypse. New Mutants is going to be its own thing. Deadpool is its own thing. They have no real with which to screw.

That means, essentially, you have the government cover up three public events, all of which were decades ago.

I'd also position mutants as better than Inhumans and long-lived (kind of like some Inhumans). Have the mutants wipe out Earthbound Inhumans and push them as a big threat to humankind in the public eye once it leaks that they are in fact real. Nick Fury could be a great part of this storyline - he could have been involved from the ground up on covering up the mutant threat.

Or if you're rebooting, just midboot them like Spider-Man. Those are the two solutions.
