I also hate the double standards of the Star Wars fanbase.

People always complain about Rey being too "powerful in the Force" but back in the old EU when we had Galen Marek force swipe a lightsaber right out of Darth motherfuckin' Vader's hands as a toddler nobody even cared.

Then there's the Leia scene that everybody is making a big fuss over, but in current Star Wars canon, we had a guy that literally survived getting bisected in half before falling down what was essentially a bottomless pit.

People don't seem to get that the Star Wars universe is, well, a universe. Ideas are constantly being expanded upon or reworked. This happens with any franchise big enough to have its own dedicated lore spanning across hundreds of expanded material. You're always learning about new things. Like how we didn't learn until Episode 3 that it was possible to literally create life through the Force.
